Wiping off dust

Journal Entry: Fri Feb 9, 2007, 9:31 PM
It just occurred to me that leaving the previous journal entry for so long might seem a bit pathetic. But I'd kinda forgotten deviantART, and I haven't been writing much. The little I have done has been mainly in Norwegian, too. I guess that's the price for being so damn picky about my own work, and not having any nights to dedicate to poetry.

Moving on, lots of things have changed. Of the most visual, my hair has grown quite a bit, so I will need to change that avatar pretty soon. I'm thinking of getting dreads, something I've wanted since I was twelve, but I haven't really decided for or against yet. Time will tell...

Speaking of moving, I no longer live at home. Currently, I'm attending a one-year music boarding school outside of Trondheim, but this summer I'll probably get my own small apartment in Trondheim, living alone for the very first time. A year of government-enforced civil service, most likely in the office of some human rights organization, will be my way out of compulsory military service. Me, working full time, in an office! But I'm actually looking forward to it--I'll probably be better off economically than now, even though the pay is positively lousy, and I think I might learn something worthwhile.

That about wraps it up for me at this point. Maybe I'll update this page soon, as I'm itching to write, but I wouldn't get my hopes TOO high. Cheers to anyone still watching my page!

Yeah, it's like they HAVE to be good in December, like that would help them if there was a price to pay later...
But wait, they could just believe in Jesus, and all their sins would be forgiven. And all us nice people who don't will rot in hell...
I know that's not how everyone, or even most, sees it though.

Not a christmas fan myself as well, but sometimes you have to follow the mood, as you said, for not to ruin it. I hate how people commercialize christmas. Families don't get to meet except on that day. Poeple tend to do more good. They donate money...make up with friends...an not worry about all this the rest of the ( 360d - 1d ). If there was no god...we must creat one, so let them celebrate the misery of our creation.

Aharrr! That's no good... you might infect me!
Ow. The time is 06:10. It's morning. I should've been in bed an eon ago... but I finally got another poem written! Yay!

You're welcome... I always find myself writing depressive stuff (not angsty, but you know...), and capturing the beauty of the small things is beyond me. You do it very well!

Thank you very much for your critical comment on "Is / Ought"!
I have to admit, I don't like the poem anymore myself; it was one of those poems that sound excellent and catchy when you write them, but soon wear off after a few reads. I like the thoughts I laid down in the tercet in the middle, but the rhyme does break it up rather badly.
The poem will be in my Scraps, as a reminder of how not to write. ;) I'm far more proud of some of my other latest pieces, frankly.
